Kauai Restaurants
While one cant assume that the quality of restaurants on Kauai will be uniformly high, there are some good bets to be found around the island. JRs Plantation Restaurant on the Coconut Coast offers family-style dining with plenty of fresh seafood options. Lihue, on the North Eastern shore is home to two of Kauais best-known restaurants: Dukes Canoe Club and Gaylords Restaurant. Dukes Canoe Club has two levels, the lower being a lounge, the upper a gourmet restaurant. Gaylords Restaurant is an award winner thought to be the most romantic restaurant on the island. Kilohana also presents a great luau three nights a week.

Kauai offers many kinds of shopping opportunities throughout the island, from small shops to malls. Stores offer many unique items to take home and enjoy, above and beyond souvenirs. Apparel including aloha shirts, jewelry, home and personal accessories, and art are available . Shops in Hanalei, Princeville, and throughout the North Shore are nothing short of a shoppers paradise. On the East Side, Kapaa Town and Kinipopo Shopping Village offer a variety of fun shops and eateries whereas Lihue and the Kalapaki area offer country stores, funky and fine art shops, nifty gifts, and farmers markets.

Kauais weather is usually localized meaning that youre likely to see scattered rain showers and sunshine in the same day - particularly as you move around the island. Kauais temperature is mild and pleasant throughout the year with only a small temperature difference between night and day. There is no "rainy season" in Kauai. Although there is generally more rainfall during the winter. There is not a season when you can expect prolonged periods of rain. Generally, when its raining in one area, you can drive 10 minutes and find sunshine somewhere else.
