Attractions
Without a doubt, Graceland, Elvis Presley's mansion/museum, is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Memphis. Visitors to Graceland are given the opportunity to tour Elvis' mansion, visit his grave and even view his collection of automobiles and airplanes. The National Civil Rights Museum, the Gibson Guitar Factory and showcase and Victor Village are also unique sightseeing options.
Memphis is also a great city for family holidays. There is the Children's Museum of Memphis and the march of the famous Peabody ducks, picnicking and bison-watching at Shelbey Farms Park, and even more animals, including giant pandas, at Memphis Zoo. Besides, Memphis Zoo has been one of the city's most popular attractions for over 100 years. The zoo now houses more than 3,000 animals, including lions, bears, elephants, and most recently, giant pandas on loan from China.
Mississippi- the second longest river in USA serves Memphis' western border and is the reason why Memphis is known as "The River City", and Bluff City". The banks of the Mississippi provide nearly five miles of parks which are perfect for outdoor recreation. In addition, riverboat cruises, canoe rental, and other water activities are available.
The Peabody Ducks are arguably one of Memphis' most unusual attractions. Each morning, a parade of five ducks marches into the fountain in the Peabody Hotel's grand lobby to the sounds of John Philip Souas's King Cotton March. Each evening, the ceremony is reversed and the ducks return to their rooftop home. This may sound strange, but it has been a Memphis tradition since 1932.
Memphis is a city famous for its melt-in-your-mouth barbecue. But perhaps the most famous berbecue restaurant in town is the Rendezvous. In business since 1948, the Rendezvous has been featured in novels, movies, and nation stories and many celebrities have been known to dine there.
Sun Studio was recording home to many artists such as Elvis Presley, John Cash, Ike Turner and many more. Today it still functions as a recording studio, but also as a tourist attraction for music lovers from all over the world.

Memphis offers shoppers everything from one-off designer boutiques and little antique shops full of retro knock-knacks to be-name international brands. East Memphis is home to a number of large well-stocked shopping malls, while the Cooper-Young district of Memphis is the best known for its individual boutiques.
You can also pick up many beautiful souvenirs of Memphis' musical heritage in Beale Street. The majority of Memphis' shopping is done in its malls and department stores, which are generally open from Monday to Saturday from 10:00 to 21:00, from 12:00 to 18:00.

The city of Memphis has a moderate climate with four distinct, separate seasons. Summer weather in Memphis is sunny with a fairly humid climate, and the hottest months of the year are July and August, when daytime temperatures can reach as high as 32C. Winter in Memphis can be cold and the coldest months of the year are December, January and February when daytime temperature may drop to around freezing. Snow can occur during winter season, although the annual snowfall for Memphis is less than 15cm/ 6 inches.
