Miami Attractions
Miami is heavily influenced by Latin and Caribbean cultures. This gives the city its unique atmosphere and flavour. Little Havana harbours a big personality; it is a colourful neighbourhood with a large Cuban community. The area has several ethnic shops, restaurants, music venues and galleries. Little Havana also hosts several carnivals and street parties of note; that attract large crowds.
Of course the biggest attraction in the Miami metropolis is its beaches. South Beach is the place to see and be seen. This one of the most glamorous places in America; it
is a magnet for the trendy set. Ocean Drive is a center for entertainment, fashion and nightlife. The street is also known for its lavish art deco buildings and as top celebrity
hang out spot in the city. Weather you want to lie on the beach and catch up on your tan or do some star spotting; South Beach has it all.
Miami also has several cultural and recreational facilities of note. Miami Metro Zoo (152nd Street and 124th Avenue) is a free range zoo with animals from Africa, Asia and Australia among other places. Vizcaya Museum and Gardens (3251 South Miami Avenue) is a land mark villa and a major attraction. The villa features eminent art work

Miami has a variety of restaurants offering innovative cuisine. The Miami Beach area has a huge selection of plush restaurants and stylish bars. BLT Steak (The Betsy Hotel, 1440 Ocean Drive, Miami Beach) is an upscale stake house that offers alfresco dining on its 80-seat patio with picturesque views of the Atlantic Ocean. A La Folie (516 Española Way) is an authentic French café that feature heavenly crepes, sandwiches, salads and delectable wines at decent prices.

Miami has a thriving fashion scene, with lots of up and coming designers and artists. There are numerous up-scale malls as well as assorted neighborhood shops that cater to every taste and budget. Bal Harbour Shops is a luxury open air mall. The mall boasts a large number of designer boutiques including; Dolce & Gabbana, Yves Saint Laurent, Chloe, Jimmy Choo and Marc Jacobs. The department stores; Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus are the anchors at Bal Harbour Shops.
Just 30 minutes north of Miami is Sawgrass Mills Mall in Sunrise. It’s an Outlet Mall that contains a large number of discount designer shops. Stores featured include; Giorgio Armani General Store, Calvin Klein, Burberry Factory Outlet, American Apparel and Valentino. The Design District neighborhood has a huge selection of art galleries and boutiques stocking items by established designers and artists as well as up and comings. This is also a great place to shop for vintage and more eclectic items.

Miami has a tropical climate with hot and humid summers and short, warm winters. Temperatures during winter rarely fall below 10 oC and during the summer temperatures are in the 29–35 °C range. The wet season run between May and October. The warm climate makes Miami a year round holiday destination.
